Dee Why Salty Surf School & Surf Hire
Dee Why Salty Surf School specialises in beginner-friendly surf lessons, running regular group sessions alongside private coaching for those wanting a more personalised experience. Whether it’s your very first wave or you’re looking to build confidence and progress your skills, our lessons are designed to suit all abilities and conditions.
Conveniently located just moments from the sand at Dee Why Beach, we make getting in the water easy. It’s a short walk from our base to the shoreline, so you can spend less time organising and more time surfing.
Our facilities include showers, toilets, and change rooms, with a dedicated wet entry to keep things practical and comfortable for surfers coming straight out of the ocean. We also offer a range of quality surf hire, including soft beginner boards, performance boards for intermediate and advanced surfers, and warm wetsuits for cooler conditions — so you’re covered year-round.

How to Get to Dee Why Salty Surf School – Dee Why Surf Beach, NSW
Dee Why Salty Surf School is located right at Dee Why Beach, making it easy to access whether you’re coming by car or public transport.
By Car:
If you’re driving from Sydney CBD or the Northern Beaches, head toward Dee Why and follow signs to Dee Why Beach. Parking is available along Dee Why Parade and in nearby beachside car parks. Once parked, walk toward the main beach area near the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club — you’ll find Salty Safaris set up close to the beach.
By Public Transport:
Dee Why Beach is well serviced by buses from Manly, Brookvale, Warringah Mall, and the Sydney CBD. Get off at a Dee Why Beach stop and walk a few minutes toward the sand. It’s an easy stroll and hard to miss.
On Arrival:
You should be able to find our flag and sign set up out the front of the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club On the Sand. Otherwise you can find out surf school Van Located in the car park behind the Surf Life Saving Club.
